Little girls are trained to love horses. Perhaps this is why, as adults, some men fall under the peculiar delusion that women would want to get fucked by one.
I later learned there was a more socially acceptable word for this phenomenon—equestrian. If anyone understands this word when you use it, you are sure to receive some pats on the back and intellectual praise. If they don’t immediately get the joke their laughter will be at most hesitant and feigned, or they instead will think they heard the word ‘thespian,’ which is easily confused with ‘lesbian,’ and so might ask you what gay rights have to do with horse riding. Yes. This has happened to me.
I know.
Somehow, despite the onslaught of suggestive messages to this end, I managed to escape the “horse lover” training remarkably unscathed and reserved my affection only for horses that possessed the magical powers of speech, flight, or fashion. Yes, this includes unicorns.
